Looking back at the month of August, we bring you a quick Movers & Shakers update to paint a quick picture of career changes within the performance marketing community last month – remember, if we don’t hear it from you, we won’t feature it!
Retail and e-commerce group Maple Syrup Media, the company behind Quidco, has poached travel industry veteran Ido Padani to the role of chief commercial officer after some six and a half years spent within various roles at Expedia, most recently as senior director and head of business development.
Rapid growth across Europe and the US has seen customer acquisition group Cohort Global announce Heloise Hotson as its new commercial manager to support expansion in the markets, where Hotson has been successfully building affiliate programmes for Barclaycard prior to the hire.
British social commerce platform and member of Pepper.com, HotUKDeals appointed Danny Munday as general manager. Prior to this Munday spent six months in Asia building the partnerships function for CompreAsiaGroup, and held multiple positions during a three and a half year tenure at MoneySuperMarket.
Chief economist is the title handed by ad tech giantAppNexus to Gabriel Weintraub, currently a professor in economics and optimisation of marketplaces at Stanford Graduate School of Business. Weintraub will report directly to Catherine Williams, the company’s chief data scientist.
August also saw Adam Gilsenan take the reins as UK country manager for mobile advertising company YOC. From this position Gilsenan has made two senior hires; Oliver Gold, former commercial director at Ad Compass, has been appointed to the role of programmatic and publisher director. Meanwhile, Benedikt Rabb joins as head of ad operations, having held senior technical positions with Amazon and MTV.
In Berlin, ad quality solutions and viewability specialist Meetrics announced a duo of new partners, welcoming eValue’s Thomas Falk and Muzungu Capital’s Ronald Paul to the company, bolstering its position in ensuring viewability, fraud prevention, brand safety and audience verification.
A “key strategic appointment” for CRM specialist Selligentsees Roy Jugessur join as vice president of UK and Northern Europe, formerly of Experian Marketing Services Group, while a second posting sees Christopher Baldwin join as head of UK marketing, adding the title to a resume including Adobe and Bazaarvoice.
Tech provider for advertising buyers, The Trade Desk, took on a new CMO with the hire of Mark Kirschner, named one of Hot Topic’s ‘Most Innovative CMOs in the World’ last year, and formerly of the same role at eBay Enterprise, a position held since September 2013. Kirschner has also held the role at Rakuten.
Cloud-based audience monetisation platform MPP Globalappointed a new CFO in Jon Strudwick, overseeing all areas of finance within the company, and stepping away from multi-channel payment solution provider PayPoint Mobile.
And finally, Dentsu Aegis Network’s acquisition of Accordant Media came with top-level reshuffles, with the acquired firm’s leadership team, co-founders Arthur Muldoon (CEO) and Matthew Greitzer (COO), leading the combined business operations in the US.
